We are urgently seeking volunteers for various roles within the foodbank; all the opportunities listed below (except Supermarket Collections) are weekly but can be undertaken on a “job share” basis. If you are interested in any of the roles see the volunteers section on how to find out more.
General tasks include stock management, making emergency food packs and orders. Task will generally involve heavy lifting however lighter task are available, more information on our warehouse roles can be found here.

Our foodbank centres are where clients collect their food packs. General tasks include; making tea/coffee, chatting with the clients, bagging food packs and offering extra items. Team leader positions include; accessing email, carrying a set of keys and managing team members. Training will be given prior to starting the position; full details of the various roles are available here.

Office Based Positions
Referral Co-ordinator – This is a co-ordination role rather than a hands on role to support the referral agencies. General tasks will include contacting referral agencies and managing client referrals. The commitment of a half day per week, on which day suits you best, is required. Warehouse Co-ordinator – Could you manage a turnover of 80,000 tonnes of food a year? If so we would love to hear from you, this role is central to the operation of the foodbank. Full details are available here.
Office co-ordinator – This role involes supporting and co-ordinating the admin team based in our warehouse; with an increasing demand for our sevices this is a vital role in ensuring we can deliver our services to those those in need. A more detailed description of the role is available here.
Supermarket collections take place every four to six weeks, usually on a Saturday, so are ideal for anyone who would like to try volunteering for the first time. Tasks involved include handing out shopping lists to customers, receiving and sorting donations. There is no regular commitment with these slots just sign up if you are available.
