Tesco, South Queensferry Three Day Collection

19th December 2013

On the weekend of 29th November to 1st December, we held a food collection at the Tesco South Queensferry superstore, part of the national collection organised between the Trussell Trust and Tesco.  The response from the local community and those driving out of the city from home was amazing.

We collected a total of 2,232kg over the three days.  This will provide 223 single person food packs and equates to over 2,000 meals for those in crisis.

A huge thank-you goes to: the store for hosting us; our volunteers giving up their spare time; and the general public who showed humanity at its best by digging deep to help their own hungry neighbours at Christmas.

We were supported on the Saturday with a visit from our local MSP Colin Keir, who rolled up his sleeves to help while chatting to volunteers and customers. We greatly appreciate all the help & support we receive from our local elected representatives.

To everybody involved, many thanks on behalf of those people who will now have a happier Christmas thanks to you.

Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones and every blessing for 2014.
